What is the best onboard video chipset?

The 780G motherboards seem to have ATI Radeon HD 3200. I hear this is a good chipset but what is the best out there on a >$100 motherboard, Intel or AMD based?

It is, but why pay $130 for a LGA 775 socket pc with onboard graphics when you can get a P45 chipset MOBO these days for around $80-100 and pick up a 4650 for around $50. The P45 option gives you better graphics at the same price point.

That price point is just not economical.

The 780G is still a very compelling chipset for good general performance, OK gaming performance, 1080p decoding capability, small form facter and power consumption.

The AMD 790gx (w/sb750) has the ATI Radeon HD 3300. Most models include built-in 128Mb DDR3 1333MHz SidePort video memory for IGP, PCIe x16 Gen2 (& Crossfire at x8 x8).

The Biostar entry-level 790gx is $99.99

The Foxconn 790gx with Sideport is $105 AR.

I believe there are Gigabyte 790gx combo deals on The Egg for $180-$210 with anything from a 45w X2 4850 to an 89w X2 6000.

edit: I found an Asus 790gx / X2 5600 combo deal rite cheer for $213

Also , JetWay has a version for ~ $110 ~ usually on eBay ...
