what is the best OCing mobo for the AMD XP cpu?

Have the upgrade bug, eh? Because unless you get an XP2000+, you'll likely see almost no improvement at all. Even with an XP2000+ at say, 1800MHz, you'll still probably only really notice the improvement in benchmarks...the machine will likely not feel all that much faster. A little bit, but not a lot.

I've built systems with both the epox 8kha+ and the soyo dragon plus (kt266a). Both systems were great and were full of features for overlcocking. Stability was not an issue on either one. Because of the price, I tend to lean towards the epox myself, but the soyo came packed with goodies (ide raid, 5.1 sound, all sorts of extra usb jumpers, and a flash memory reader. It also came packed with cables). If a geforce4 is in your future, you would be better off avoiding the epox though.

/me waves at Renob! 😀

I have an Epox... in fact, I have *your* Epox (based on your rig description in your .sig) and I have an XP 1900 in it OC'd to 142MHz FSB using Arctic Silver III & an Alpha PAL 8045 (which fits in there perfectly). Just put it in there last weekend. It's got a stick of Crucial PC2100 DDR in it and SETI WUs at this bus are running ~3:20 for mids, under 3hrs for VHARs.

I don't have a Geforce card but have stayed with the older Voodoo 3 3000s since I've been finding that they are behaving when I OC (I have a PCI one running on an Abit BE6-2 P3 system with a 162MHz FSB).

Just pop that T-bird out like I did and pop the XP in. 😉 You might want to go for ones lower than the XP 2000 if you want a better shot at OCing successfully.

[EDIT: I think if I let this thing burn in some, I can go higher... I might try the stick of Mushkin PC2700 that just came in today just to see...🙂]

I have an Abit KR7A-RAID with AthlonXP 1700 @1650(11x150)..runs nice...

just beware many have had problems with Abit and Liteon cdrw...

I would go with the Epox 8KH+. It is super easy to overclock and the
stability is good. I am using one with a 1700+ and it works great. The Abit
would be my second choice. But, I don't need the RAID controller.

My 1600+ is currently running at 1700MHz and is totally stable on a KR7A RAID with TwinMOS PC2700 RAM. Wonderful m/b!!!

is this also appliable to the ep8kha+ or just the 8kha?
i'm lookin to get one of the ti4600's - do u know if it is specific to the visiontek card or to all the related boards
