"IMO, the smart buyer will start buying American cars when the car makers start making a product that lasts more than 50,000 miles. Until then, foreign cars it is for anybody that needs something to last. Why support an industry that makes a poor product? "
I just had a 1983 American Olds Delta 88, that worked great, had 170,000 miles on it and was still running great, very little rust, and problem free for over 10 years. I had to get rid of it because of the new pollution inspection test being done here in my state, I had the converter taked off many years ago and it failed because of that basically.
Me and my family have had many American cars, all with high mileage, way over the 50k that your saying they don't last up to.
