OK - the TFT applies to all the rest - it stands for "thin film transistor" technology and is also known as "Active Matrix."

The rest are native resolutions:

XVGA = 1024 x 768 pixel resolution
SXGA = 1280 x 1024 pixel resolution
UXVGA = 1600 x 1200 pixel resolution.

im sitting here looking at a uxga monitor on a compaq evo laptop, and it just plain sucks. the font looks all jacked up.

i have tried playing with the MHz and different resolutions, to no avail.

when i plug an external crt or lcd, the quality is awesome.

i called hp to have this laptop returned and im not sure if i should get a identical replacement, or a different laptop.

any comments are appreciated.

:D

1600x1200 is too much for laptop 15" screen

I love mine HP with 15" SXGA+ 1400x1050

you gotta be jokin! i have a toshiba s-701 uxga 1600x1200

the text and images are much sharper and crisper than the s801 which has sxga...it was broad as day when I compare the two laptops next to each other.

1600x1200 all the way on lappy.

yea, my omnibook 4500 has the sxga and i love it. i was dismayed when i saw the quality of the compaq. i got auth to return it (3,700.00) and select a different one.
