Just running the fan that came with the Duron chip. What the best fan out there by general opinion. Just trying to it as cool as possible. Thanx.

Personally, I read the ANANDTECH discusion on this. But there are a whole bunch of other opinions. Almost as many as the INTEL/AMD debate

I find that to be true. Everyone has there own opinion about
whose FHS is the bomb, or who can get the coolest. Myself
just look at my freakin specs and admire my beast of a PC.
Well, currently I am working on a Duron 600 with an Abit KT7
and I got a pretty good Fan from 3dcool.com for around 15 bucks.
But get some thermal goop too, to make some good contact. Any Crestions?

Some heatsink/fan combos will not fit all motherboards. Also to be considered are mass and noise. I was going to get an Alpha for my Duron 800 but it weighs 330g (the AMD recommendation is below 300g or you may damage your cpu during transport), so I am getting a GlobalWin FOP32-1. That cools about the same, fits all mobos and the HS only weighs 220g. The YS-Tech fan on that model is not too loud but the Delta fan on the FOP-38 is supposed to be very loud.

:cool:I really believe the best compromise of cooling (good for O/C conditions as well) is the Taisol offerings. Mine cools better than other HSF setups that have much more mass, yet it it is pleasantly quiet. Taisol though, may be difficult to find unless you know an AMD builder who wouldn't mind selling you one.
