The best dish I've ever had was tiramisu in Florence, Italy. I was on a study abroad in college, and we stopped at a random cafe. It wasn't like the stuff you get at Olive Garden (cubed), but was a big blob on a dish, kind of like how you would eat banana pudding. It was unbelievably good. I said something about it to the waiter/owner, and he brought me another dessert on the house! Damn that was good.

I'm not sure but I made the best steak I have ever cooked in my life about an hour ago. Seriously. Amazing.

All those years of expirmenting, ruining the steak and eating crap has paid off. I now have a mental step by step process on how to achieve the finest, spiced, steak... EV4R.

Some freshly made banana foster cake was probably one of the best things I've ever had. It was made by a visiting scholar down the hall of my dorm and he offered it to people on that floor. Was a really nice surprise

Bananas Foster at El Gaucho in Seattle. Amazing stuff, they make it right there at your table. For that matter, the Chateaubriand (sp?) for dinner was incredible too.

The best thing ever is a ripened, chilled mango. As far as prepared foods, it would have to be an amazing curry I had at India Sweet & Spice in Los Angeles years ago. A close second was a Lebanese restaurant near Westwood (forget the name :( maybe someone in LA knows). No idea what I was eating but it was awesome, and it was no surprise the owner was very, very fat :D

I dunno so many good meals...
some meals I have fond memories of...
Most of my stories involve pizza....

I had a really great pizza once in Chiasso on the swiss-italian border
Really changed my whole americanized notions of what pizza was supposed to be about....hehe no tomato paste

I also had a really great pizza in Rio de Janiero grilled on an outdoor open air wood stove grill of some sort...I'm not sure what was on it and I don't wanna know I ate their about 3-4 times though while in rio....Same guy worked their everyday I just told him give me something different everyday....
Nice fun poolside food.

Kangaroo steak in the Austrailia outback....I didn't order it but, I tried some of my father's and it was excellent...

I love Spam fried rice with eggs over easy on top of it.... Picked that oneup in hawaii...
I also make a varietion Portuguese fried rice that uses ground pork along with portuguese seasoning..;pretty much made the same way minus the spam...

One of my best regular meals ever was eating Aldo's special in Washington Missouri....for those of you in the STL are you should swing over to Washington and try aldo's and drink some wine around Washington very good....
During the week they had these lunch specials that came with the entree of the day (everyday of the week had a different entree the most plain one was lasagna)...
also a salad with their great homemade house dressing and small loaf of bread and butter for $3 this was 1997-98 they have probably raised prices but, even then it was a great deal.... a lot of times I would get two and eat the other for dinner at the price it was and the quality best hot deal ever.....ate alot of aldo's and drank alot of wine while living in Washington Missouri...Kindaof the center of the missouri wine scene along the Missouri river valley.... Stone Hill Winery in Hermann (about 20 minutes away from washington was at one time the second biggest producer of wine in the country...before prohibition...

anyways to many good experiences to even fathom hehe...

There is no "best dish ever" for me.

Some of my favorites of all time are King Crab Legs at Bob Chinns, Kona Crab at Bob Chinns, Pollo di Anna at this little itialian place called Giacomos, Lobster Claws, Egg Curry, Tandori Chicken, Penang Curry with Chicken, Filet Mignon from several different restaurants, Tiramisu at Giacomos, Baked Alaska, Cherries Jubilee, Porterhouse Steaks Cooked on my grill, Kung Pao chicken & Shrimp Combo from a little family owned take out place called "Wa Feng Chop Suey", Mongolian Beef from a slightly larger Chineese Restaurant called "Yen Yen", Pork Tenderloin the way my Mom cooks it (as well as my grandmother, and when I was really little, before she passed, my Great Grandmother prepared it that way too).

My favorite "huge fricken feast" is probably turkey cooked on the grill smothered with bacon and spices with gravy, served with Mashed potatoes, Stuffing, corn on the cob, sweet potatoes, buttermilk biscuits , salad, shrimp cocktails, garlic bread, asparagus, carrots, and of course, a nice cold GOOD Beer, (Hoegaarden, Guinness, Stella Artois, Sam Adams, Linies Red, Killians Red, etc)

EDIT: I have decided that I like food TOO much, heh

hmm...

1. Picanha from Fogo de Chao  - my favorite meat EVAR.
2. My mom's chicken with rice - not sure what the magical thing is, but this has always been absolutely amazing
3. Shrimp with Lobster Sauce from some place I loved as a kid; I don't know if the place still exists, and I don't remember the name of the restaurant.
4. Wonton Noodle Soup from Chinatown in Houston (Santong Snacks?). Wonton Soup is also good, but either way, their wontons are to die for. :Q

not sure which is my favorite, but these stand out:

strip steak with sauteed mushrooms in a pepper cream sauce, had it again last night, fantastic. some of that sauce on some mashed potatoes was awesome, as well.

chicken cordon bleu: where the chicken is stuffed with proscuitto and mozzarella, double breaded and fried, not the half-ass way some places do it where they throw cheese and some deli ham on top :/

chicken florentine, and chicken marsala are also favorites. i dont eat out much, since wherever i could afford to go pretty well just cooks stuff i can (and would rather) make at home.

oh, and fried plantains...fried plantains are delicious.
