I'm contemplating changing the Ram I already have due to my system not booting and this is one area I have not tried. I'm not an overclocker but I'm thinking PC3200 or 3500. So, two choices of Manufacturer -

I want to run them in dual mode so I need a matched pair of 512mb modules (Total 1GB)

Corsair (Pro) or OCZ?

Any advice would be helpful. :)

Corsair over OCZ. No reason to buy PC3500 unless you're overclocking, you'd be better off buying Corsair or Mushkin PC3200 with tigher timing (CL 2 or 2.5 instead of 3).

I already have some Corsair in my system and I'm trying to trouble shoot a problem I have with my system booting...or not as the case may be....so I need to try a different manufacturer. So I've gone for some OCZ EL DDR PC-3200 Dual Channel Platinum which I have never used before... So if it isn't the RAM thats causing me a problem I have a Gig of PC3200 to get rid of...Mind you I could use it and have 2Gig...lol

D@mn...it could be some bad ram I have but a number of ppl are having problems with the P4C800-E and it's booting problems. It seems to come and go. It doesn't effect everyone but I'm one of the unlucky one I guess...Other than that it's gotta be the Mobo.... :(

I'd say look at Muskin also but if your not OCing level One would be fine. I have it running in my main rig and it has been flawless for several months.

I have some Corsair XMS3200 LL Pro Series on that motherboard. I works fine up to 206MHz. Higher than this and I get no boot at all. One thing is funny, however, is that I was able to run that same memory at 220MHz on an NF7-S. I am investigating on this issue right now.

I run Mushkin L2 PC3500 at 2-3-2-7 timings with a 3.2@3.6. At 3.2 this RAM runs at 2-2-2-6.

For some reason, the PC3500 was cheaper than the PC3200 at Newegg and both will run at 2-2-2-6 at PC3200 speeds.

BUT you MUST set your DDR voltage at 2.75. This RAM will NOT run at it's advertised timings at the default voltage on your mobo. Even if you let the SPD set the timings for you, this RAM will give massive errors at stock voltage on the P4C800-E.

I learned this the hard way. :(
