A 4.5 hour long concert by System of a Down, Spineshank, HedPE, and Fear Factory. Fear factory played for 2.5 hours!!!! I was sore and tired for a week after that concert :)

Best $14 I have EVER spent.

Hardly remember it but the best had to be the Alice in Chains Dirt tour in 1993. but more recently the M2K Tour in 1999 with Metallica, Kid Rock, Creed, and Sevendust was good stuff :)

Bastard.

Mine? DMB, Crash tour, end of their tour @ the Gorge in 1997. They played for about 3 1/2 hours. God, that was amazing.

C'mon, no votes for GTR yet? Actually the best for me was Emerson, Lake, and Palmer...errrr scratch that, I think it was Cozy Powell behind the drums. Keith Emerson's keyboard solo was something to behold.

Best buzz came from the Deep Purple reunion concert. Some guy just came walking up the aisle with literally a garbage bag full of doobage. It did provide for entertainment after they blew a fuse on the stage when they tried to fire up the pipe organ.

Other than that the best would line up as Rush, Rush, Rush, and Rush. But the worst concert I went to was also Rush, but that was at the Cap Center in D.C., and the design of the place created the worst accoustics imaginable, so it ended up being about the only concert I went to that I can say I did not enjoy.

The NYE y2k phish concert in the middle of nowhere, Florida. Was an awesome 3-day event and was literally in the middle of the everglades with no real civilization anywhere. All 100,000 people who attended camped out in tents and cars, it was like a huge city of tents. Everyong was so carefree too, i'm telling you hippies are the friendliest people in the world.

The only concert I've even been to was last year's Summer Sault. Smashing Pumpkins, Our Lady Piece, Foo Fighters, Trebble Charger, A Perfect Circle and some other not-so-good bands. It ROCKED.

Edit: Finger Eleven was there too. Kami just reminded me...

Buzzfest every year seems to take the cake but other than that, the Limp Bizkit concert was awesome.

The Finger Eleven concert was good too.

There's a Fear Factory/Kittie concert coming up in my town soon..I'm sure that's gonna rock ass.

I've been to a LOT of concerts that were just REEEEEEEEALY good. It would be too hard to lable one as being the best.

YES in 1995 stands out as amoung the best.

It's a lot easier to think of what the WORST one was.

And the winner is....

"MOTLEY CREW, 1986"! hehe

I don't know about the best SINGLE concert, but
In the course of only about a month and a half, I saw Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, and James Taylor in concert. Three AMAZING shows in 6 weeks. An unforgettable summer, to be sure.

Cerebus451, why did you pull back on the ELP selection? They get top spot for stadium sound from me. Every stadium concert I'd seen, up till theirs in the early 70s in Cleveland, had really poor sound. Loud ain't what I consider good sound. They were the first band to set up speakers to sound GOOD in that stadium. And it was quad sound to boot! I won't even mention Keith Emerson's spinning grand piano! :Q

For best show, surprisingly, Alice Cooper's "Welcome To My Nightmare" was better than the studio recording. It was enchanting and the sound was perfect! A close second was Genesis' "Lamb Lies Down On Broadway". Weird and wonderful!

I've only been to one concert, so I guess its the best one I've ever been to, out of default. It was in Buffalo NY, Cannibal Corpse w/ Angel Corpse opening for them. Pretty good show, CC sounds really good live.
