From what I've seen people here at Anandtech believe Nero is by far the best.. I agree..

Nero is the best because of its file system. But the best prog to backup protected Cds is without a doubt CloneCd.

Nero is the best for everything but backing up CD's. CLoneCD rules for that.
Just IMHO.

NERO 5.0

I'm reading Nero can't copy protected software. Is that correct? Is there a setting that needs to be changed for copy protected disks?

Accidentally when I was trying to burn a CD I had NERO disc in the CD-RW and it indicated that disk is copyrighted. Does this mean you can't copy copy protected discs?

I'm probably going to get thrashed but i actually like EZ CD Creator 4. Going to get version 5 once it's cheap. I could never get Nero working well with my burner and CDRwin is good but i still like using EZC4 more. I do do :) audio CDz in Nero though. CDClone for copies of course. peace out.

There should not be any speed difference between the two. I use Nero and clonecd, like most people. easy cd creator is just fine for basic burning. Only stuff like a few data files to a cd, or music burning I guess, but I have not used ez creator with audio cds before. Nero is supposed to be able to copy more cd's than ez cd creator can. I use nero because it is easy to use and has more features, too, such as overburning. I don't think I have ever used any of those extra features, though.

I use CDRWIN & Nero for backing up PSX games(I prefer CDRWIN). Adaptec is prolly the most user friendly but, if your burner supports "raw reading", CloneCD is supposed to be the best.
