I currently have an X-Rite (GretagMacbeth) i1 Display2 colorimeter and it is becoming long in the tooth. (Especially since X-Rite has no plans to support it on Lion or future versions of OSX because Eye-One Match requires Rosetta, but I digress.) I am looking for opinions on whether I should get an i1 Display Pro or a Datacolor Sypder3 Elite. I use it to calibrate many different types of displays on both Windows and Mac systems. I am open to other suggestions if there is another product out there I should consider. Thank you in advance for your input.

Well usually a calib utility should come with the monitor you buy. I dont know if you can run other vendors calibration tool.

Also you might want to look into a app called PowerStrip .. Or am I not understanding correctly.

GL on your journey my brother!

Thanks tweakboy. I am familiar with Powerstrip. I prefer to use a colorimeter because it does a much better job than adjusting the monitor by eye with test patterns.
