Hacker-Pschorr Weiss

very good beer.

my favorite one of recent has to be st bernardus 12. one of the best beers i've had.

Yes Hacker-Pschorr is good but not better than the one I listed 😉

If you're talking the Hacker-Pschorr Hefe-weizen vs the Paulaner Hefe-weizen I'd have to disagree with you there. I think a lot of people would as well. Paulaner's is fairly run of the mill.

<edit>

Now that I check out the BA reviews.. the Hacker-Pschorr is indeed better reviewed than the Paulaner. Not by a whole lot, but it is what it is. 🙂

It's all personal taste I guess 🙂 I drink the big 3, Erdinger, Hacker-Pschorr, and Paulaner on a regular basis here, both from bottles and on tap.

recently, my new favorite is the boulevard smokehouse series quadrupel. it's delicious

I just took the Boulevard Brewery tour in Kansas City and spent 2 hours in their tasting room, all you could drink.

Needless to say, the night didn't end well. But the beer was mm-mm tasty. 🙂

Dogfish Head 90 min IPA

I've had the 120 minute, although it was illegal in the state I had it in, also expensive at $14 for a 12 ounce bottle. Damn was it good though, and hard to believe from the taste that it was %21 ABV.

I don't really have an all time favorite, as it depends on what style I am in the mood for. However, when it comes to availability and cost, Red Stripe is way up there. (Not a lot of specialty beer stores here in New Mexico, and even fewer microbreweries)

Do they sell that in pony barrels?

Samuel Smith's Oatmeal stout is pretty good, as is Anchor Porter. There is a local microbrewery called Rohrbach's that makes a beer called Highland Lager which is amazing too. Also a big fan on Saranac Black Forest, Lake Placid Ubu Ale and of course Guinness.

Hacker Pschorr is good shit, I do also really like the Paulaner Hefe too though 😛 they are both awesome Heffeweisen

Stone IPA as mentioned is amazing...

Try their Levitation and Ruination ales... I LOVE Stone anything... And they are brewed in Escondido, about 45 minutes from me 😛 so they are all over the place around here.

Drakes IPA was good if I remember correct

Also like Warsteiner

I am also a fan of Sierra Nevada for an easily obtainable beer, they are great, as is Fat Tire

That is a hard question. A couple dozen labels come to mind, but I think Gritty's Scottish Ale is my fav all around beer with Sebago's Heffeweisen the only one giving it real competition.

tried them all, always end up going back to Newcastle.

What do you mean by 'all'? You've had every beer ever made and still prefer Newcastle? Or every beer available at the local gas station? 😛

Smithwicks is my all-time favorite up to this point, but I'm trying to find (and drink) as many beers on BA's top 100 list as possible to find a successor. What are your favs?

smithwicks? i had some of the a few weeks ago, it was ok, nothin special (bottle, btw)

my favorite so far is a local brew, Duck Rabbit Milk Stout. ive finally gotten into liking beer and tend to like darker stuff. fort collins chocolate stout is another one i like.

that or newcastle are kinda my standards right now, but ive only been drinking and trying out beers regularly for a couple of months. i look forward to trying more and more 🙂

I'm all over the place with "favorite" beers. Lager, ale, stout...it depends on the mood I'm in and whether I'm eating or not.

I like to try and get something new every time I'm at the store.

Perennial favorites:

Smithwick's
Anchor Steam
Fat Tire
Sam Adams OctoberFest, Winter/Summer/Spring/White Ales
Trader Joe's Bohemian Lager (surprisingly good, and only $5.99 a six pack)

Latest new fave:
RedHook Long Hammer IPA

Summer's almost here, nothing better than picking up a sixer of something new and chilling out in a lawn chair with some friends.
