what is the best alternative to iTunes for managing an iPod

I just got an ipod photo 60g myseff, and I'm having good luck w/ the winamp + ml_ipod combination. It's free too.

There's also anapod (shareware), ephpod, and several others. Just try them out and pick the one that fits your situation.

I guess I'm retarded cause I couldn't get ephpod to work right. It actually made all the songs on our shuffle unplayable when we tried the sync... had to do a software update and then really clear the songs again.

Oops.. sorry.. platform = winxp

Anapod is pretty nice, but since I manage my libary and such w/ winamp already, it was just easier to deal with within one interface.

I had no problems whatsoever with ephpod, but I never even installed iTunes - that might be the difference.

I use both foobar and winamp, but I go back to the days of managing directories and files from a prompt, so I'm more comfortable just using a separate file manager interface program (eg. Ephpod) to do it. Also don't want to muck up foobar/winamp if I end up selling this ipod - it's really not very good.
