I am fixing up an old computer for a friend and I just bought a Socket370 Mb for my friends 633mhz celeron, what would be a good AGP4x Video Card for it if I plan to later upgrade it for him to a 1gig Celeron.

Would an old board like this have a 3.3v Agp slot? so what would be the best 3.3v agp card?

The best agp x4 card is the best agp x4/x8 card, which would be the X850XT PE. Would be extremely bottlenecked by the CPU though.

I asked what would be a good video card for my friends cpu, so I wouldnt be interested in a x850xt.

I think the MB only supports 3.3v AGP cards, Im not sure thats why I was asking about if some AGP4X slots are 3.3V only.

also I wanted to trade the 5500 for a cheap Video card and a cheap sound card.

dude no sh(t the X850XTPE is the best AGP card at the moment but thats not what hes asking. i would suggest you get a geforce 4 TI 4200 or 4600. anything beyond that will be a bottleneck. anyway you cant do much with a celeron 633mhz.

hi, agp8x is backward compatible w/ agp 4x, so any agp8x card will work in an agp4x slot. cheers.

ahhh futher research shows that I was mistaken and that it is infact the agp2x slots that are 3.3v and not the agp 4x slots.
thank you.

The way to tell if an AGP Slot is 3.3v or 1.5v is:

There are Guide Notches in the AGP Slot. In the 1.5volt Slot the 'Notch' will be 'away' from the Rear of the PC & on the 3.3volt Slot the 'Notch' will be "Toward" the Rear of the PC. I know of a Link with a Picture of the Difference, I'll post it if I can remember where I saw it.
