have a mitsubishi 930sb and looking to see if anything is better and main use is just games.

cain... from what my thread discussion states, the NEC/Mitsubishi, ViewSonic, and Samsung are all good lines of CRTs (Not to mention the only ones still producing quality new ones) but just read my thread to get your info... no need to post a duplicate thread.

You tell em! I hate when people say crap about other posts! Like they own the freaking forums.

Anyway, a monitor with a Trinitron tube or Mitsubishi (forget what they call their tubes) will look great. CRTs are so cheap right now that you can practically by the best for a good price.

i have that.. it is fine, there is no point getting a different 19" crt... the only upgrade i have considered from this [nice] monitor is the new dell 24" dell lcds 🙂

hey cain I'm just giving advice everyone has given me when I post duplicate threads... something called the SEARCH BOX... like type in CRT Monitor and usually it will bring up a plethora of threads on the subject... but like you said, you don't have to listen to me so anywho...

Ribbon I had a sony trinitron (Apature Grille) back in '96 '97 and I never noticed those two wires running horizontal so whats the big deal of everyone complaining about them and saying get the shadowmasks... I prefer the grilles because they allow more light to pass and (to me) look sharper. Just my two cents...

I have a 22" Trinitron CRT and can see the two wires if I look hard. But you know what? I don't care cuz my damn monitor looks freaking awesome! With my HD tuner attached even HDTV looks great! If this monitor dies I will definately pay the $$$ to have it fixed. I dont even bother with my regular TV anymore. 🙂 In fact, I dont bother with my standalone DVD player that I spent 1200 on yrs. ago, infact, I dont even use my stereo system anymore. All my hifi equipment (including turntable) is hooked up to my PC. Ahh, I love my sh!t. 🙂

Sorry if I went OT.

I have nothing but Mitsubishi Diamondtrons CRTs. Like Oyeve, I believe everything is better on a computer. The more HDTV's become like computer displays the better. I think native 1920x1080/1600x1200 is the resolution EVERY HDTV should shoot for. The more sound cards with digital outs and hardware DTS/DD encoding the better. Everything should be a peripheral to my PC. I want everything networked. Seriously. The fridge. Tells you compressor status, temperatures, and if the cheese in the draw is moldy...

I think that went OT enough 😛

The best 19" CRT made
