Not married, but my girlfriends have all been between -3 and +2.

My brother is 5 years older than his wife and my father was 5 years older than my mother. I've got a cousin that's 5 years younger than me; a few weeks after she turned 18 I mentioned my parents and brother having the same age gap and said to her "If I'm going to keep up that pattern, I should be looking at your friends. Gimme some names!"
 
I was born on 9/7/1980.

My husband was born on 12/8/1981.

Before marrying him, I dated individuals from 5 years younger than me to 12 years older.

I've found that much more than age, it is maturity and compatibility that really contribute to the success (or stunting, or demise) of a relationship.
 
My wife is 23 and I am 24. She is 1 year and 1 week younger than me. Strangely enough we managed to put our anniversary in between our birthdays. That's going to be a crazy 8 days in the future.
