What is the advantage of an LCD monitor versus CRT?

Huh? I thought monitors were measured diagonally from screen corner to screen corner and viewable area was measured horizontally from screen edge to screen edge, regardless of monitor type....isn't this the way tvs are measured too?

What he means is if you buy a 19" CRT you actually have 18" viewable screen size, unlike a 19" LCD where you would get the full viewable 19" display,same goes for a 17" CRT which is normally around 16" viewable area,where as a 17" LCD you get the full 17" viewable area.

LCD is easier on your eyes ... much easier...

If you use your computer a lot, you ll notice the difference after a days work...
