Dell has dimensions, but what are the actual screen dimensions (viewable area) height and width of the screen? Mine just shipped and im trying to get an idea and the 24" widescreen but probably 22" diagonally doesnt exactly do it, thanks :)

Open up your high school math book and look up the hypotenuse formula, you have the diagnoal dimension and aspect ratio, the rest you can figure out through trial and error :)

LCDs are measured by their ACTUAL diagonal viewable screensize, unlike the oldschool CRTs that were measured to include the housing, IIRC.

Thus, a 2405FPW at 24", is actually 24 inches diagonally viewable size. For the full dimensions including the housing, check out the Dell site for LxWxH/D.

Ahhh...thats good to know because the only thing I had to base it on was that phillips monitor that is included in the XBox 360 demo setup (which is that BTW?) it measures up at around 22" viewable so I assumed it was around a 24" LCD....

^^

Either you measured wrong, or that was a 21" LCD, another standard size. Like yacoub said, LCD's are measured by viewable size, not like CRT's.
