hey guys,
I searched on AMD's website and my CPU and manual are still in the mail so I can't look. My friend got his system put together today and when I called him he was freaking out. He was telling me how terrible the retail cooler and the thermal pad thing where. I told him it isn't that bad, it is certified by AMD for normal non-overclocking usage (what we will be doing).
He was going berserk because he had a temp of about 125F at idle which is around 52C. I told him I thought that was ok and it would probably run around 70C with load. I thought that sounded normal. Also I remembered that some people reported buggy reading on Abit temp sensors too? So it could be cooler even.
Obviously I have no way to be sure if i'm right and that is why I am asking. I know the retail HSF is fine as long as it is installed correctly.
This is on Abit A8V...
Thanks,
Rhin0
