hmmm deadaim v4.1 doesnt seem to work with the newest AOL. Oh well, not worth five bucks.

What are the other 3rd party programs you referred to?

The new DeadAIM 4.2 works with AIM 5.5.XXX. It is well worth the $4.99 price, IMO. Not sure what I would do without the tabbed im's and logs.

I'm not sure if I am using this AIM+ thing right.

The only AIM that turns out transparent is the cloned one and only the message box and not the buddy list is transparent. Also, none of the adds have been removed and I dont know how to edit the preferences, any help?

i used trillian for like a week and got sick of it.

I thought I was the only one.
It's great if you need to have multiple IM clients. I don't blame you if you only used AIM - Trillian is overkill. But if you use more than 1 client, would you rather have the multiple loaded ? That's what I got sick of. Trillian is a god-send for this purpose.

Glass2k

# Glass2k is a small little program that allows Windows 2000/XP users to make any window transparent. Right-click on any window or press the keyboard shortcuts (Control + Shift + [0-9]) to make any window transparent. It's that simple.

# The new stable beta version remembers each window's transparency settings, makes taskbar transparency possible, allows you to keep any window on top, loads on Windows startup etc.

# "Glass2k runs in the systray and handles turning on any window's transparency. I'm not too sure about the speed in W2k, but in XP w/ the newest Nvidia drivers and a somewhat recent video card, it's hardware accelerated, and yes, you should be drooling." - SlashDot.org
