I think it's some older song with insane guitar but not a lot of lyrics if at all. For those of you with a guitar handy the beginning goes something like

Low E ----0-0---0---0---0---0---0-3----5---- (repeat)

I bet someone has to know it. GAH!

I wrote something like that in junior high.

that tab sounds a lot like ZZ Top's The Grange. Was it sort of bluesy sounding?

I don't think so. There was a lot of wailing, distorted guitar and whatnot.

Uhh, try muting after every open E then hold the 3 and the 5 for one beat each.

Lol I don't know metronome numbers very well (although I should). Medium. All the open Es except the first come on the off beats.

Here's a little part in the middle I tried to figure out:

e-------17hold-----17p15---15-17hold-----17p15-----15----------------------------------------
b------------------------------17-----------------------------17-----17-16-15-----15-------------
g-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------17-----14hold-

EDIT: Formatting screwed up my tabs had to edit like 14 or 15 times but I think it's right now.

Haha someone suggest La Grange already, that was my guess.

That's a VERY basic rock riff, it's used in so many songs, we need more to go on.

What kind of guitar did it sound like? Amp?

Very distorted, lots of treble during the solo, some harmonics.

EDIT: And the tempo is faster than Smoke on the Water

Probably some Black Sabbath song

No he uses C tuning on that album, no way the low E could come close to that.

What kind of guitar do you think it sounds like? More of a thick humbucker sound or more single coil ish?

British amp or american?

You said there are few to no lyrics? Anything at all to go by?
How old are we talking here?

Oh man I know what this is without a guitar, at least I think:

Edgar Winter Group = Frankenstein?

You sure it's not The Grange? Cause everytime I play that tab, that's all I hear :p I'm not talented enough to play the second tab, plus all I have is an acoustic. But I'm curious now; I wanna know what song it is now too! :)

HAHA! I tried La Grange and that's it! I just don't remember all the words at the beginning, our school plays different songs on the announcements in the morning so I usually start listening about halfway through. Oh well, thanks a ton guys!
