What is that little blue thing in ZA?

Anyone else have this little blue circle pop up on the Zone Alarm icon in the task bar? Sometimes it blinks, sometimes it's not there at all, and other times it's on all the time. I went to their site and the help file that comes with the thing but can't find info on it anywhere.

I believe it's an indicator telling you that there's been an alert. Whenever I bring up the control center and look at the alerts section the thing goes away.

I've been wondering the same thing. But I don't think it is alerts. Seems like it flashes a lot more than I get alerts. Anybody know for sure?
