What is that functionality called that lets a VCR record TV programs when I am not at home?

I would like to record friends when I am not at home. I would like to buy a VCR that records TV programs when I am not at home. What is it called? Does it come with all the VCR's?

Don't you just input the time of day and which days you want to record and it will do that?

I do not know. I don't have a VCR and have no idea if all the VCR's come with that functionality. Do they?

VCRPlus? You can enter a code from the TV guide and it will setup a scheduled recording automatically for you.

VCR+ is a feature that lets you type in a string of numbers given in the TV Guide listing and then the VCR will record that program (it basically sets the channel, date, begin record time and end record time).

It's time-shifting, timer recording, etc. Congratulations on resisting the temptation of the VCR for the last 20 or so years. Make sure you don't get Betamax.

You might want to get a DVR device instead, unless you're waiting for them to drop to $50 too. :gift:

I think he may mean "VCR Plus" where you can input the code in your tV guide and have it record for you without messing with the start time and end time.
