Can someone explain what is the technology behind super-lcd and how it differs from a regular lcd?

HTC phones are super-lcd but i can't find a definition of what 'super' means.

The "super" means that the touch controls are integrated into the glass.

SLCD is a display tech, jointly developed by Sony and Samsung.

SLCD's picture quality is somewhere between Samsung's SuperAMOLED Plus and plain SuperAMOLED.

Personally I didn't like SAMOLED+ on Droid Charge (also slated to be on Galaxy SII). The colors were WAY too oversaturated and there was red complexion bruising on faces in Youtube video.

Non-plus was perfect. I can't wait for Evo3D that will sport this S-LCD.

The first 2 replies are conflicting.

Is super-lcd a technology where touch sensor is integrated onto display or is super-lcd the name of a manufacturing company/venture?

SLCD is a up and coming screen technology, its been primarily developed by Sony in a partnership with Samsung. Whether or not the touch sensors are integrated into the glass, I don't know. They don't conflict though.

SAMOLED displays were developed by Samsung, but its technology as well.

I think the super is in reference to it being super hard to see in sunlight. My Evo is completely worthless on a sunny day.

There is also the power factor SAMOLED and SAMOLED+ use less power than LCD does. As for "super" LCD I don't truly know what Super LCD is. SLCD is just a production "company" as mentioned that makes TFT displays.
