that isn't taxed yet.

I mean, at least here in NY, they are coming up with taxes on everything imaginable, and I wonder what they'll tax next.

Air and walking. They could hook up a combo breathing/pedometer monitor to us and tax us on both.

NY is such a clusterfuck. Too bad the government doesn't have any balls to cut back on all the special districts in the state. There is no reason why NYS should have the most government workers per capita.

Food... 1¢ per caloric unit, and 10¢ per gram of fat. If my tobacco is taxed to make me healthy, then my food should be taxed so I eat healthier.

GOV. PATERSON ABANDONS 'ITUNES TAX' PLAN

ALBANY - With his approval ratings at an all-time low, Gov. Paterson announced today that he will drop the so-called "iTunes" tax and other surcharges as potential revenue generators - and plans to use money from President Obama's stimulus package to help close the state's growing deficit.

http://www.nypost.com/seven/03...ce_tax_plan_159074.htm

but these are still in the works as far as I know:

A 4 percent tax on taxi, limo and bus rides. That means a $10 cab ride would cost 40 cents more.

* A 4 percent entertainment tax on tickets to movies, concerts and sporting events. That would add nearly 50 cents to a $12 movie ticket or $1.80 to the cheapest $44.50 seat at a Knicks game.

* The tax on beer increases 24 cents per gallon, or more than double the current rate, which means about 30 cents a case.

* An 18 percent tax on nondiet soft drinks, which aims to reduce child obesity. A $1.50 can of Pepsi would then cost at least 25 cents more.

* A 4 percent tax on cable TV and satellite services, raising a $100 bill by $4.

* Hiking the cost of "personal" services - including haircuts, manicures, pedicures, massages and gym memberships - by 4 percent.

* A 4 percent sales tax on clothing and shoes under $500, except for two weeks out of the year.

* Elimination of the law that caps the state sales tax on gasoline at 8 cents per gallon.

I do believe the tax on nondiet soft drinks has been shot down.

In answer to" and I wonder what they'll tax next."

They are going to start taxing Cow Farts. They will put meters on the cows butts and charge the farmer per liter of greenhouse gas coming from the cows flatus. Next it will be people farts so get your checkbook ready.

There already are taxes for that, even if you don't have kids.

Here in GA they were talking about putting taxes on groceries but the instant it was mentioned everyone went nuts with outrage and they quickly dropped that plan.

It's pretty rediciouls IMO to tax the hell out of every thing possible to make up for short falls in planned tax income when every American right now that has less income is cutting cost.

Exactly my issue. You should be taxed more if you send your kids to public schools.

calories.
for example the McGangbang. 800 calories and $2.17.
those are some cheap calories.

There should be a baseline used established for a healthy adult per day. If you want to eat 2 McGangbangs @ 1600 calories and how much that exceeds a normal caloric intake per meal for a healthy adult, then you pay per calorie or per 100. Calories from fat should be taxed at a factor of a normal calorie.

obviously this will never happen...
so the correct answer for this thread is:

pot.

Having a gas burning car still.

Or better yet get the tax reliefs going again for the people that have made the switch.

I believe Ireland taxes autos by engine displacement. Bigger engine=higher tax. I think that's a good idea. If you're a business that needs large vehicles, you should have to prove the need... No executive types driving Hummers for the tax break.
