However, I think the only true 'investment' we could make as a society that pays off is education. So while it is already heavily subsidized, if we *must* take a more socialistic approach in our government, I'd rather see it put toward 'free' or virtually free post-secondary education for those who wish to pursue it than most of the crap it goes toward now.

The way I see it. Shit happens in life. Sometimes someone is responsible, sometimes they're not. If you own something and you want guaranteed protection for it, buy your own no-fault insurance for it. The things you own are ultimately your responsibility.

I guess we disagree on this then, I don't want to pay for somebody else's fuck-up :p
