Because we produce the best beer and whisky on earth, produce the finest looking lads and lasses, and are the most intelligent country on Earth (it's the alcohol that doesn't allow us to show it). All in all, we're just special. :)

Note: This does not include Jackeens or Corkians ;)
Scotch whiskey and Belgian Ale comes from Ireland?

Now, as much as a hot redhead can be a HOT redhead, most Irish women are hideous beasts. Men would rather have swollen breastices than swollen livers and asses...

This from a yank who has never lived in Ireland nor had the good Irish beers. No place to talk, gobshite.

Have you ever been to Ireland?

Take a walk through Dublin and you'll sing a different tune. In the 18-30 age bracket over there, almost every woman was either average or above average in attractiveness. You don't have the rampant obesity and obsession with hair spray and makeup that we do here.

Most of the women were just good looking girls that were naturally that way. At least that was my take from spending 10 days over there.

I think everyone looks at us Irish as doing nothing but drinking, smoking and fighting.. which, while a good way to spend your Saturday evening, isn't the be all end all... we're very industrious, as Monday morning hangovers mean we have to cram more work into the rest of the week... :D

This thread makes me pine for Grafton St...

Aye, we're hard workers til that whistle blows of Friday, then the weekend is nonstop drinking, singing, bawling, and jigging. :) Course, me being in college and all, I spend half my week like that as well. Only 1 class on MWF. :)

While I have no doubt you saw and overwhelming number of fine lasses, chances are, since you were in Dublin, they were visiting from Belfast. ;)

I do remember he did have tiny hands and wore some tiny ass shoes for a 6ft 210lb guy... maybe that's why he was drinking all the time

I have small hands but one of the biggest damn hearts. Seriously,I credit a lot of my stubborness... err drive and determination to my ethnic heritage:)

This thread makes me want to go to Ireland.

Me too, I've got family that's still alive over there. My grandfather used to talk to me all the time of Ireland and how someday nothing would feel more important to me than the desire to see it.

As an American born person of Irish heritage I was fortunate to spend my youth in South Boston.

My parents went there for their anniversary many years ago. Bought 1 square foot of land for my Irish grandparents. ;)

Iceland is first on my list of "ancestral type places" to visit. :D
