why do i see the word "Irish" every where. Irish pub, Irish skin (in the asian men dating white women thread), and a lot of others... 😕

Because they were the forgotten slaves in the forming of the United States. They're just proud of their heritage. (I'm half Scottish BTW)

Because they have leprechauns and leprechauns have gold and everyone likes gold.

You mean tough leprechauns that drink a lot and start riots at soccer games?

A lot of Irish descendants have a deep sense of pride in being Irish. I, for one, am descendant of a man who shot a deer in Ireland, was arrested for killing the "king's" deer, and he was told he could be killed or sent to America. See, now there is a great deal to be proud of there. 😀

Second, when were the Irish enslaved. Third, whio enslaved Ireland (the Irish)?

2) In the 1800s
3) England

They've also been enslaved by the English in both America and the Caribbean.

I didn't know about the Caribbean...but i did know about the English in America. I looked at the article you linked...some new info to me. Thanks!

Why do i see Chinese Food on restaurants, or Thai Food????

His point is that the appearance of the phrase "irish pub" is far more frequent than say, english pub, russian pub, german pub, etc. yea, there are chinese food, but other types are equally or more frequent (such italian, french, spanish food, etc.)

Depends on where you live. Here in AZ it is probably more common to see Mexican Food places than Chinese.

That's just because Irish people drink more, thus are more often associated with drinking and pubs. 😀

As far as European culture goes, they have one of the most lively and spiritual and distinctive, so when white people seek to find their roots or some kind of racial identity they naturally want to gravitate towards associating with Irish so corporations play off that and throw Irish infront of anything they can to tap into that sense of fondness. Or something....hell if I know.

Thanks for backing up my "forgotten slaves" post with hard information. I was lazy and didn't feel like doing so myself. Must be the 1/4 Canadian in me. 😉
