Yesterday I was going to invest in the following stocks except my money hasn't completed the Etrade transfer yet:

C (10.2%)
GM (up 2.41% on the day but I would have sold earlier when it was up 10%)
BEXP (up 10.55% today)

Is it that simple? In this market, yes. I know absolutely nothing, research nothing, and I have made 30% after taxes in about a month.

Only one little caveat: you have to be willing to lose it all.

In this market - exactly. Anyone could make huge gains in this market, but the OP seems to think he could do it at will. If he honestly believes that, I think he'll be surprised. ;)

<-- up 55% in about a month with my "play money" account

conduct due diligence and fundamental research
analyze the graphs, numerical data, daily range, read equity research reports, etc.
you easily locate a low value stock (especially now). For example, a share priced at $6 that you know will move up based on your research
you purchase 1666 shares
set a sell limit at $8 which is realistic and easily attainable based on the data you have researched
in a matter of days, you have made over 3k

Name one stock that will go up 33% in the next few days. I'll come back next week to see how you did.

I had the one hunch you get in life that pans out and that was SIRI @.07. I picked up 80,000 shares or just under $6000 after fees and large purchase surcharge. Anyways, that has turned into $30k and was up even more yesterday.
