The debates have been reducing the public demand for the media and the candidates to yack about rumors and character bullshit unless your name is Sarah Palin. It is still out there of course, but the spotlight has shifted on more real issues. Such shifts help the quality of P&N threads quite a bit. It is still a chaotic disaster no matter how you slice it though.

The candidates are actually doing a decent job of focusing on the issues and not attacking each other.
They arent leaving much fodder for the angry regulars of P&N.

I believe P&N is a still-contested but mostly abandoned territory near the demilitarized zone. Derek led the People's Front of Anandtech into valiant battle, but the internet connection went down and a 3rd of the moderators joined the other side. Rumors persist that Dark Angel and her mutant gang live there, but how anyone could survive the radioactivity and cannibalism in P&N is beyond reason. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. pc game was loosely based on P&N.
