End of year is always a good time for me. I usually get some money from dad and taxes (about $10,000 total). This year will be even better in that I'm selling some property as well (an additional $10,000). I'm going to pay off all of the credit cards and do some work on the house.
I don't want to spend all of the money on mundane things. What is latest and greatest from AMD for CPU's and recommended mother boards? My kids need their compture upgraded (200M). They will get my wife's computer (1.2G), who will then get my computer (1.33G).
I saw an article (here) that the AMD 4's were out (back in May). In the world of computers, that has to be ancient history. What is out now (in Spet) and what is expected to be out by, say the end of the 1st quarter of 2002?
I have a MSI 6341 motherboard (only 2 DDR slots). I don't know if it will support the newer chips or not (AMD's webpage is down). Should I get a newer mother board or just get one that will do ok with the 1.2G and rotate chips?
