What is needed to create a commercial?

I plan on making a commercial for my Senior Project next year, but I don't know where to start. I have Premiere, which I'm sure would be needed. Would I need to get a good DV camera? I plan on doing a professional looking car commercial if I can..

I havent dont fully professional commercials, but your best bet would be a nice DV camera that records on mini DV disks, and a firewire card for your pc. Premiere is the best for editing. For audio I have used CoolEdit 2000 with good results.

If you feel that your budget does not allow for this equipment I reccomend a Hi8 camcoder, capture in DivX format in virtualdub with any capture card that has S-Video in, edit with premiere and output to tape with TV Out.

I guess I could borrow one of my uncle's DV cameras for a bit, until I get myself one. Could you reccommend a good firewire card? I won't be doing this until atleast next year, so maybe I should wait, but I want to get somewhat proficent at it.

You only need four things to make a commercial: your product, a video camera, tape to put in the camera, and lots of beautiful, scantily clad women selling your products. Any more questions?
