I got a few older AMD Athlon processors and I can't remember what speeds they are. The only thing I can see is a number printed in one of the corners. I have one that is 27111 and its brown; and one that is 27016 and its grey. Anyone know the speeds? 2000? 1800?
 
aye, in the center of the chip, probably covered by thermal g00 is the die. It will probably be shiny green/blue or possibly red in color. Etched into that will be a series of numbers like:

AX1700DMT3C

or something similar. From that we can tell you the which core, the stock speed, the stock voltage, the stock FSB speed, and even the rated max temp.
