what is my neighbor doing?!

No Lifer
Trying to figure this out since it's been ongoing for over a week.

- multiple cars parked outside, some with various building equipment going in and out of his 1-story house, but see no results
- they worked till 10pm or later, going in and out of mostly the garage and they were working with a tent in the rain
- a few "crew" members were using a video camera hooked up to an arm and it was panning at various levels toward the house, looks pretty professional
- they stood on their neighbor's lawn away from their house and did some sort of on-camera interview a couple days ago, then some young hottie was seen doing it today - looked like had the appropriate mobile equipment (ie. lighting, etc.)
- no marked vehicles (thought it was the beginning of extreme home makeover)
- haven't seen the neighbors themselves - I know they have 2yo twins so this must have displaced them... seems like a big deal

not sure why there'd be ragtag group of private vehicles coming to the house for this... none seem to be business vehicles except for a run-down blue van with no markings. Yet they have all this gear.

Maybe they don't want to draw attention to it? Or maybe they are filming a construction-based porno.

A movie of some type?

If you don't see Spielberg or Lucas loitering around then you can extrapolate from the clues/facts that you have.

The camera was probably an Infrared camera. They are an extremely foolproof way to pinpoint heat loss/insulation issues and water leaks. They're generally not too expensive of a service either $150-300.

Nearly none of the home improvement shows' vehicles have any sort of markings or advertising for the simple reason they DON'T want to draw attention to themselves and be mobbed by people begging for a free handout/reno.

Not only that, but odds are only one or two vehicles are going to be from whatever show in question. The rest of them will be local contractors.

These are the guys that stole Dave's house and they are now unloading all of his house into your neighbor's house.

They're working on building this:

i hate nosy neighbors. worry bout what goes on in your own house and not others.

If I'm being a nosy neighbor by trying to guess what's going on when there's 5 cars and a group of people standing in front of a camera multiple times on an otherwise overly-quiet street, then that's fine by me. This isn't like it's a single contractor van and I'm trying to find out which room in their house they're working on. This is some *interesting* activity that doesn't happen everyday and if you drove by it everyday you would be wondering to some level too.

And I hate you, so that's ok.

Probably a construction show. I'm sure there is a lot of behind the scenes stuff we just don't think of when watching shows like that. The nondescript vehicles are probably to not draw attention. They probably don't want people taking pics or videos and the logos showing up in youtube videos or something before the actual show airs. Just a guess, though.

Could be it's actually a big drug operation and all the cameras and stuff are just to make you think they're filming something.
