With Madden, you can use "Ask Madden" for all your play calling, let the computer do auto-substitutions, and all you really have to do during any given play is press A to snap the ball and then either let the back run it or choose a receiver to pass to. If you don't touch the controls, the back or receiver will be controlled by the computer. During defense, you don't have to do anything.
On the other hand, Call of Duty is basically the same way. You can play with a really basic understanding of the game and just shoot at guys, let the computer automatically reload when you run out of bullets in a mag, and ignore crouching, prone, sprinting, grenades, your knife attack, and anything else. You'll suck but you can still play. Same with Madden. You can ignore everything and play the game practically on autopilot but you won't be as good.
