I don't get it. Even if you are using CMYK, that open file should only be like 216MB, and that's at 300dpi, which is unnecessary for that size print.
Also, how did you get that size file? Drum scan? I *know* you didn't arbitrarily scale up a digicam pic in pshop![]()
6meg nef file from digi cam - 32meg 16bit PSD in photoshop via NEF plugin, do some stuff to image takes itto around 35megs 3000x2000 - loseless resize plugin for 3x in PS - makes photo 9000x6000, ~308megs
CMYK isnt as issue i print everything from RGB even from pro proto printers, except when useinga Light jet, then i convert it to CMYK and the printers color profile
for archiveing i save as Tiffs or PSDs
I saved it as a PNG which made it like 23megs took a bit to upload but it worked, print should be here middle of the week
