I have to wonder. Edwards shocking withdrawal BEFORE Super Tuesday was the unexpected action that stopped certain victory for Hillary. The Edwards supporters broke 5-2 in favor of Obama. If he had been in the race the additional 3 percent nation wide would have ended up giving Hillary the win and the momemtum and the kind of lead that would have made her the prohibitive favorite.
Now, apparently, both Obama and Clinton are courting his support.
I think Edwards is definitely negotiating for some post. I think he might want the VP spot, though I think he might settle for something like Attorney General.
Here's the thing. As time goes on he seems less and less important, and I don't think at this point he really could sway many voters with an endorsement. While in a close race anything would help either candidate, what can Edwards deliver?
Would it be one percent? Less than one percent?
I would have to think that he would have had much more clout negotiating before Super Tuesday.
