So I was at the bus stop with my son because a few kids were kind of bullying him. He's in 1st grade, they're in 4th or somewhere around there. The biggest kids starts spitting at other kids and pushing them down, not mine, but others. I tell him to stop, and he say, "I'm getting my dad mother F******!!!" This kid is like 9 years old! I would have gotten the absolutely dog crap beaten out of me if my dad ever heard me say that and I was under the age of at least 13, especially if I said it to an adult.

His dad comes out, I tell him what happens, and he didn't even care. Didn't even blink and eye.

What is the deal? My kids would have drunk a cup of vinegar or eat a bar of soap after saying something like that. Do people honestly not care if their kids are respectful anymore? Am I over-reacting? I mean seriously, what the crap?

Our society is going to hell in a hand basket. Not that it matters but I'm 24 and I still watch my tongue around my family. Part respect and part way I was raised.

I would call the police.

You did the right thing by telling the parent. But when they don;t care then you need to contact the police and the parnets of the other kids that are getting messed with.

I know if I did anything like that growing up I would of had my ass all black and blue by my parents. Let alone no TV, dinner, be grounded, etc...

I won't lie and say that it didn't cross my mind, but how do I teach my child to respect adults after I kick an adult's butt right in front of them?

yes, there are kids like that

it is because there are parents that think their kids are gods and that their kids sh!t doesn't stink like the rest of us

if my kids did that, well they don't, anyway it is a DIRECT reflection of the parents, IMO

These days, the TV and computer raise the kids, the parents are just there to feed them and drive them to wherever they want to go.. And you wonder where respect for your elders went, hah! :p

He didn't do anything. I told him his kids was bullying some of the other children, including mine, and he simply said, "My son's not a bully." I understand no one wants to think their child is being mean to other kids, but it happens. My son is a great kid, but I know he can get frustrated easily.

Anyway, after I told him what the kids said, all he said was, "Okay", and walked off. I knew he wouldn't mess with me cause I'm twice his size, but I was hoping for something like, "Okay, we'll I'll have a talk with him" or at least act suprised that his son would say that.

I would have been dragged out of school, beaten to hell, and then forced to apologize.

I may say some mean things on the internet, but in RL is where stuff really counts.

I might, however, say some ****** about the dad or his whore wife or his unwanted child if the turd messed with my kid.

Because parents today are unwilling to put the proverbial foot in the proverbial ass.

I absolutely dreaded my father getting notified of something I had done. That was like a death sentence to be carried out immediately.

One of the worst things to have happen was my dad called it at my friends house and told me to get my ass home because the sheriff was there.
Ohhh, that sucked.

And my dad was a damn aangel compared to my grandfather! HE took a call once about something I had done....Holy freaking Christ........

Any of you ever think of home schooling because of this crap? My wife is almost already convinced to do it. A, because my son is very bright (however the hell that happened), and B because of kids like that. I did okay in school, but geez, I wasn't exposed to that type of behavior until middle school almost. Kids still had mannars then and if you didn't, it was the paddle baby.

take your camcorder and capture it all on film. im sure the school would be interested in knowing what was going on at the bus stop.

Children learn to behave that way somewhere, whether from their parents or older siblings. There's always a reason why a child become a foulmouthed bully. Watch out for your property, now that the boy and father have their sights set on your family.

my dad instilled the fear of god in me...i locked my mom out of the house once (thought it was pretty funny, and we all laugh about it now) and it was snowing outside...she went to a neighbors to call my dad to come home, as soon as he turned onto our street the door to our house was WIDE open and my mom was let in....that didnt stop the spanking :)

I'm 24 and i'd never say anything like that to anyone...unless they had it coming. wtf though...kids these days, i cannot stand them they are such idiots because their parents are noobs...

Get the school involved. The bus stop kinda falls under my school's jurisdiction. Let the dad spend some time at the principal's office explaining why his kid is bullying children at the bus stop.

Problem solved.
