Ohhh, that sucked.

And my dad was a damn aangel compared to my grandfather! HE took a call once about something I had done....Holy freaking Christ........

It seems to me that more and more parents think their job ends when the kid is popped out in the delivery room.
They no longer teach manners, respect and fear. By fear i mean letting their children know THEY are the parents, not the friend or buddy. People no longer take responisbility for their childs actions and behaviors but rather blame it on TV, video games, and music.
I am not surprised that happened, although i am disgusted that it is happening more and more.
If children ever come into the picture for myeslf and husband, i know there are things that i will most certainly instill in them. I know that a spanking is more effective than a time out.

I have a feeling that that child will soon be in juvinille detention or jail.

But isn't it illegal to spank a child?

Since it happened at a school bus stop, you would be within your rights to have a talk with the principal about the incident. They aren't liable for what happens away from school, but they should be watching that kid at school closely. Also, the bus driver should have refused to let the child on the bus. I would have been very leery of letting my kid on the bus after an incident like that.

I tell my gf if we ever have kids and they act up or do something disrespectful i will blister there asses with my belt. The same way my old man did to me. She disagrees but i think i've finally convinced her violence is the answer in some situations.

No it is not, and you don;t have to spank to be a good parent either.

Trust me me and my brothers were immune from spanking once we got used to it and knew how to play our parents. But like decent perents they caught on. They then took away TV, phone, etc... and that was worse. It was not over in a minute, but lasted.

Yeah, that's kind of what I worry about a little. At the same time though, he's really bored in school. He's in 1st grade and can read the Harry Potter books already, well, the first one anyway. He's on about a 3rd of 4th grade reading level already, and is doing very well in the other subjects too.

I have warned him already about the kid, and I go there almost every morning now and drop him off at the bus stop. I think I may bring my camera one day and just hide behind something so the kids doesn't see me and see if I can't get something on tape to give the school.

Thanks for the opinions guys, and girls. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't the only one who feel this way.

Yeah, I've never one had to spank one of my children, but they all know when they see that look in my eye that they've crossed the line. And the priviledges and stuff work great, you just have to make sure you make good on your word.

if it is... i have not heard about it.
some university did a study a few weeks ago and EVERY single CEO of a fortune 500 company was spanked as a kid. Not saying anything else, that was just VERY interesting to me.
I was spanked plenty a times. it taught me my parents were not fooling around. I never got "time outs" and i feel that what they did for me when i was little did benifit me more than i will ever know.

The biggest kids starts spitting at other kids and pushing them down, not mine, but others. I tell him to stop, and he say, "I'm getting my dad mother F******!!!" This kid is like 9 years old! I would have gotten the absolutely dog crap beaten out of me if my dad ever heard me say that and I was under the age of at least 13, especially if I said it to an adult.

His dad comes out, I tell him what happens, and he didn't even care. Didn't even blink and eye.

What is the deal? My kids would have drunk a cup of vinegar or eat a bar of soap after saying something like that. Do people honestly not care if their kids are respectful anymore? Am I over-reacting? I mean seriously, what the crap?

Bad family. Bad parent.

Some people just aren't good at it.

I'm 18 and I considered "shut up" vulgar until 6th grade, and I still don't curse that much, and never as an insult unless its in jest. FYI: I also have been public schooled all of my life, and the few home-schooled people I've met completely lack social skills. There are, sadly, some stupid gangsta kids who think they sound cool when they talk like that.

Parent's fault. That kid's going nowhere in life. Ignore it and move along.

So. . .you're 24 but you don't consider yourself an adult?

Many 24 year olds aren't adults... age may grant legal adulthood, but there's more to it than that for actual adulthood.

What did the dad do exactly?

He didn't do anything. I told him his kids was bullying some of the other children, including mine, and he simply said, "My son's not a bully." I understand no one wants to think their child is being mean to other kids, but it happens. My son is a great kid, but I know he can get frustrated easily.

Anyway, after I told him what the kids said, all he said was, "Okay", and walked off. I knew he wouldn't mess with me cause I'm twice his size, but I was hoping for something like, "Okay, we'll I'll have a talk with him" or at least act suprised that his son would say that.

WOW. Tough to say how to deal with that. Lazy, idiot, uninvolved parents FTL. I guess the best thing might just be to say on the guy and his kid. Make this an every day occurrence. Hopefully something will eventually materialize of it. I can't think of any formal steps you could take, though.

thats aq BS generalization.

i will say that if my son (10 y/o) ever pulled that crap i'd take care of it. in fact, last year he went through 2 weeks of having to fight 3 different punks. i didn't condone it but i also told him he has to defend himself. i knew he didn't start it. what pissed me off was that it happened at the "Y" program he attends after school.

i'd still never home school a child as i think its important to have interaction with peers, good or bad.

Some parents need to see how their kids act. I say secretly video tape the kid 'in action' and then anonymously send the tape to the parents.

On second thought that may not be a good idea. You could be mistaken for a child preditor. hehe. Some how figure out a way to have the parents see how their child acts.

oh yeah, he's a good 6" taller than the rest, and about 2 or 3 years older than any other kid, except one girl who's maybe a year younger.

BTW, I cursed once at that age. I went to bed with a little less skin on my ass that night.

I can't even fathom a child calling an adult a "motherfscker". If I found out that my child did that I'd donate his tongue to science.
