What is it with other students after you ask a question in class?

Everybody always wants to help you answer the question, rather than waitng for the teacher to answer your question...but you people won't ever help me when I whisper a question to you. Why are you so eager to help after I ask the teacher?

It's all about the image and trying to make oneself look good. I've been in classes where nobody knew what was going on and everyone was afraid to ask for fear of looking stupid. I've also been in classes (with older people at the time) where nobody knew what was going on either, but we all asked questions, and made the instructor work for his salary. Those classes were the best... :)

Are you still in high school?

In College I would have been trying to listen to the instructor, so you whispering would be an annoying distraction.

If you have a question, why not raise your hand, or write it down to ask after the lecture?

Hmmm, if you paid more attention in class instead of neffing here, you might not need to whisper to ask what you missed?
