Of course not! So why should our beliefs on life after death for humans be any different?


As a side note, I believe the concept of life after death was created by primitive man who needed a way to put order into society. If society knew for a fact that once you die, that's the end, then people would do horrible things without regard. Now with religion and life after death, people are told to life virtuous lives and to strive to have a good afterlife which is pretty much a false sense of security and a big illusion.

This is what I believe as well.

I'd imagine its very very similar to being in a deep sleep (not dreaming) that you cant wake out of.

Some people DO know what death is like. Ask someone whos been nearly dead before being resuscitated.

Heaven is a nice thought, but clearly total BS. Death dont sound too bad to me since once youre dead, its not like you care, its the dying part that sucks.

Yes I know this, but what I don't understand is why educated and intelligent people continue to believe in age old "folk tales" regarding life after death? How could the people who wrote the bible understand what life after death was if they themselves haven't died?
