What is it? Import or Domestic?

all this talk of import vs domestic muscle has sparked an old gas leak in me 😛 (whoa, that sounds bad... i better get that fixed... but meanwhile...)

I've been liking the last V-8, and i'm intending to build one 🙂 eventually 😛 but what would you call it? import or domestic?

the base car used to make it is a Ford Falcon XB... not your standard american ford falcon line that got discontinued. no, this line is Australian only, had a nice body style, and came stock with choice of a 302 or a 351 cleveland...

i'd use neither 😛

i'd make it with a 460, supercharged, manual transmission (of course... ) um, replace suspension to be SUPER STIFF... rip out most of interior, lighten, replace front seats with ones with 5 point harnesses... change out instrument panel to have CB/PA, Speed, Odometer, Tachometer, fuel guage, and have the 3 other guages off to one side...

and i'd have a computer mp3 server 😉 just cause i'm cool like that 😛

painted black...

EDIT : i found a Picture for ya all.

'nother pic...

If this was FS/Ft this thread would be banned for violating the 4 hour bump rule 😉😛

Either way... I'll go with domestic. It's a Ford body, and the engine/scoop hanging out of the hood just SCREAMS Old Detroit Muscle.

Domestic all the way 😀

no american ford was ever made with that body, though. otherwise, i'd have my car already 😉 and that's a supercharger weiand, or something like that. dang, just watched the movie, and forgot the brand...

EDIT: googled weiand, turns out it was weiand 😛

Why the hell would you put a 460 in it? The 460 is a huge, heavy, truck engine. Will a 460 even fit in there? Ford had to move the strut towers in the mustang to fit a 429 in it.

Stroke a 351W to 408, you can make plenty of power withthat motor.

It's gotta be an import. It's right hand drive, right? (I can't get the pic links to load right now.) I think the Falcon was on the Fairlane and then the Torino chassis, but it's an Australian product.

while hurting the motor. no, i'd rebore the 460 to 502... yes, i'd be having to make a HUGE amount of adjustments to the engine bay, but with the body work i'd be doing, that really isnt as much as it would seem.

the idea is to get huge bags of horsepower off this beast, and scorch supras at the track.i'd never nos it... well, maybe, if i wasnt satisfied with my times with a rebored 460 supercharged like a mother fvcker...

no, both those cars were off the falcon chassis. the falcon spawned the fairlane, and the torino, and the ranchero. i was thinking of using a torino body and frame as the base for this, but it wouldnt be right. i'd have to do a LOT of modding to the front end, and then it still wouldnt be right.

Not a Ford fan, but I have to admit.. that's one nice looking car.. especially the 1st pic.

That is a very nice looking car. I vote import because you had to import it from outside the US. (I don't care if it was made by a US manufacturer)

eh. but when people say import, they generally mean either german/british/italian, or ricer crap 😛 this is neither 🙂

wow, that is one ugly car. a blown 460 seems nice though.

edit: i would be ashamed to call that an import 😉

Import.

Man, that car just looks like something a bad guy in an '80s movie would drive. I like it. (this coming from a non-ford fan)

If its a Ford, its American.

BTW, if you can put a cleveland in it, you can put a 460 in it.

Personally I like the 351c much better. A cleveland with 4V heads on it
and a blower will make alot of power.
