HyperTransport is a high-speed bus interconnect designed by AMD for use in connecting several different components on a motherboard. For current Athlon 64 systems, an HTT connection is used to connect the processor to the Northbridge(in place of a more traditional Front Side Bus). It is also used to connect multiple Opterons together, as they use HTT connections to directly talk to each other.
