I have even googled what is htt and I cant find a reasonable "or any" explaination of what htt is on a Nforce3 Chipset.

help me as I just ordered a new board.

Hyper Threading Technology. Intel figured they'd confuse people even more by changing the name of one of their technologies to initials. 😉

OT, but hey jonnyGURU, it's been ages since I've seen you post...

...although I don't spend as much time in the hardware forums anymore...

/remembers the Abit debates we got in back in the KT133/i815 days... 😉

i thought HTT was hypertransport for a64s, and that HT was for hyperthreading for p4

edit: hypertransport is the fast connection between CPU and ram that athlon64 specialise in, cutting out the northbridge

On an nForce3, that would be HyperTransport Technology.

By the way, where have you been Johnnyguru? You've been gone for like 4 years or something...

However you wanna spin it

HTT = Hyper-Threading Technology

or

HTT = HyperTransport Technology

Ah! nForce3 would by HyperTransport since it's not a Pentium 4 chipset.

That's stupid. ANY AMD64 chipset is going to support HyperTransport! I hate redundancy.

Sunner and Insane: It's only been a couple years. 😉 Since my baby was born and my job at TCWO was... well..... I've been in and out, but mostly in OT.

TCWO in tampa? i was looking to buy a part for comp from there but i went to the site and it was down. now it is gone? what happened to TCWO?

If no one else wants to seriously reply... 😉

HyperTransport is a high-speed bus interconnect designed by AMD for use in connecting several different components on a motherboard. For current Athlon 64 systems, an HTT connection is used to connect the processor to the Northbridge(in place of a more traditional Front Side Bus). It is also used to connect multiple Opterons together, as they use HTT connections to directly talk to each other.
