I just heard about it lately but I guess is been around for awhile.. What exactly is it? Just a clothing line? Cartoon or what??? Yes I do live under a rock.... Well, its actually Arkansas but same difference..

Cartoon I guess. They have a bunch of characters like Pochacco, Badtz Maru, Ahiru No Pekkle, Kero Kero Kero Keropi, some owl guy, all kindas.
 
it is an extremely clever marketing ploy made by sanrio of japan to capitalize on little girl's "omg its so cute buy it for me daddy" and has been wildly successful.

i think she rocks. she's so cute!
 
Hello Kitty has been around for as long as I can remember, probably over 20 years...

They have Hello Kitty everything... from as small as pencils to real Hello Kitty cars and taxi's....
