What is going on in this team??

Hello All,
Know I haven't been around much. Surfing the forums was something I always did at work and I haven't been working for the past few months. I pop in now and again just to see whats a foot.

Well I noticed that you guys had realy been pumping up the output. I keep an eye on Orange Kids weekly report on everybody's daily output just to make sure all the servers are up and running. I had noticed I'd dropped to about 30ish on the dialy rankings. Which meant some of you were putting out some serious WU's.

I was espically interested in last weeks stats as I have ordered (If it ever turns up) a new Dell 530 with Dual 2.2Ghz Xeons and all the trimings. I wanted to see what this would do to my standings.

Until this week it would put me back into about the top 15. But this week what have you all been up to. Those hamsters must be on steriods or something. As you can see from the comparison below (15 ????. DroolMAN! ????. 41.29 ) little over 40 units a day puts you in the top 15. This week (15 ????. TheMagicman ????. 50.43) you need to be topping 50 wu's a day.

New workstation or no I think I'm going to have to settle for being in the top 25.

Dell the little tinkers.

Rang me this morning to say they can't supply a 2.2Ghz Machine for another 2 months as intel hasn't released the chip yet.

A quick call to supermicro and they have plenty of the chip in stock and can have a machine out this week.

Whats dell playing at. Either Intel has cut them out of the loop of Dell has found a bug in there 530 machines.

WooHoo! Last week I had my highest average weekly production ever and this week I beat that!

Also looks like a bunch of other top producers have upped their averages and some more members have jumped up the list. It's good to be passed because that means more WU's for the team. I like the fact that IndyJaws jumped in above me. I think everyone else is too...

One thing I will say for dell. When they have a problem they get off there backsides and sort it.

I had problems with buying my last 530 and they gave me some dosh back to make up for it.

Today when they realised that a 2 month delay wasn't on. They went out and bought the 2.2Ghz chips from a thrid party. So delivery is now back on for next week some time.

Mentioning that I would just buy the same system from IBM seemed to get them going I wonder why.

Very surprised that a supplier as big as Dell has such problems getting chips from Intel. Are we seeing a return of the days when Intel couldn't make enough chips for demand.

Precision's are very good machines I have had a 420, 620, 530 and now another 530. The are very stable the 620 now sits in a network cubboard at a prominate organisation in London. The temp in there has to be over 35 degrees C and the thing never crashs. In fact it's currently my longest running server at 167 days.
