I saw it on TV yesterday. Lenox Lewis Trainer was using this shirt
that has FUBU written on it. Is it just a brand name? or else?

well that's all, and if I have offending anyone... then you need to get a dam life.

btw like 5 years ago tommy hillflinger was the thing to wear now, its fubu. but tommy is more of a brand that everyone wear.

It is a clothing brand that stands for "For us by us." Us meaning black people. And we wonder why rascism still exists...

What's wrong with Ecko?!?!?!

Ecko is a freaking motorcycle/BMX threads company.

Sheesh!

It's like when the guitar player from Living Color wore AXO leathers in the cult of personality video; all of the sudden "it's a black thing to do".

Gimme a break people!

I couldn't wear my leathers off the track anymore. :( Even if I was standing outside of a 7-11 next to my bike drinking a Gatorade I'd get funny looks.

Ok... maybe I'd get funny looks anyway. :(

I'm white and proud of my Ecko shoes. I love my rhinos :)

As far as FUBU goes. How racist of a clothing line is this? If a white person came out with that, there would be an uproar from the blacks, jews, asians, NAACP and Spike Lee.....

hahah good one. :)

But I don't think you hear of Asians in uproar about racism. Mostly (sorry if I offend anyone) Blacks and the NAACP.

In my community, in Philadelphia, that crackhead mayor of ours tried to put a stadium in Chinatown, which was right outside of the Center City area. I don't know about you, but that's a fight if I ever saw one. :|
So what did we do? We had protests of course! Only quite a few of them were silent protests. They just stood there with signs and walked around city hall and public meetings. Man, what a rowdy bunch!

I have yet to see the papers report anythign about asians complaining about racism in the papers and I read it almost every day for the past 7 years... I can't say that for other groups....

I have to laugh when I see white people wearing FUBU. At least FUBU gear looks better than Hilfiger gear. That sh1te is the worst!

I'm not a big fan of brand names. Sometimes I'll see a nice sweater and then notice it has some stupid "TOMMY" logo printed on it. What kind of crap is that? Gayass brand names...I just want a fvcking nice sweater without your stupid logo slapped all over it...bastards!!! :| :|

rant over :)

<sarcasm>yea i know what you mean bootydaddy, i mean stussy</sarcasm>

i personally wear enyce, pelle pelle, roccawear, rugid, DA Link Went, Rookie

ecko is made by a white guy, just like tommy. FUBU is no longer the "in" brand, i dont think it WAS the "in" brand. a lot of people wore it, but not enough to constitute it being an "in" brand. and some of the FUBU stuff IS nice. especially the ladies dresses :p

I thought that FUBU was a black-owned firm and the idea was for black people to support black businesses. Who decides what's "in" or "out" anyways. I mean, Timberland boots aren't exactly a "black" firm, but they're very popular in the hip-hop community.

I didn't know that you had to be a certain color to wear clothes. Sheesh, I used to wear Team Haro and Vision Street Wear stuff a few years ago because it looked cool and suited my tastes. I had BMX friends, but I wasn't trying to be a "wannabe".

Russell Simmons hired a Korean-American kid to be head designer of his Phat Farm clothes. So? Some of the stuff looks pretty cool, though I wouldn't drop the $$$ on it.

Black, white, whatever. Be what you want and wear what you want and if someone looks at you funny, flip 'em off!

I have to disagree with the notion that FUBU or any other brand mentioned in this thread is racist. Just don't bring up British Knights. :)

Is it racist just because the original idea behind this company was African-Americans supporting AA-owned/operated businesses? How about self-supported or self-promotion? How many of you have been prevented by a store from buying such goods?

Let's not be so eager to slap a label on something (yes, that is directed at EVERYone).

FUBU stands for "For U By Us". It was started by two African Americans who got backing/financing from Samsung. Samsung provided the money, distribution, resources, etc. Saw a local news special on the company.

Sure, keep smokin that buttcrack. There's already a clothing label intended for white people, I believe Tommy Hilfiger is that guy's name.
