What is faster? P3 or C2?

What is faster? Pentium III @ 866Mhz-900MHz OR Celeron II @ 950MHz-1GHz?

a P3/700E is about same speed is a Celeron 850/100

What I want to know is this. Would these be comparable, a celeron2 @ 945 and a P3 750 to 800? This is my feeling, but I would like a confirmation.

I'm getting around 5000 3DMarks, sometimes a little less but mostly closer to 5100. I have a cel2600 @ 945, and a CL Annihilator Pro DDR.

I know it's a synthetic benchmark, but Sandra says:
2607 mips
1268 mflops

These seem like good scores, I just want to know what you think. Those with P3 750's and 800's please post yours. Especialy if you have a Geforce1 DDR.

This seemed to be my best bet. I spent a little over a $100, and I didn't have to get new ram and a new motherboard. I'll make the big upgrade when there is a truely revolutionary jump in ram/mobo/processor technology.

Well, i don't have a p3 score, but i've got celery 2 scores for you, my celeron 566 o/c 930 (give or take) and my 3dmark scores with a geforce sdr (elsa erazor x, but using det 3 drivers)hover around 4600.. i did break 4700 once, but that was when i pushed my fsb to 112 and ran at 958, but that was just too hot for my gorb... and my si soft scores are:
2561 mips
1242 flops

And i have to agree with MadCap, if you're posting this thread wondering what's the better bang for you buck.. i'd go with the celeron 533, or 566 (the 600+ don't o/c as well... or so i'm told), but if you just want to know which one benchmarks better.. then the p3..

You need around 100-150MHz more with a Celly to compete with a P3 or TB...

EDIT: At the same FSB, of course! A P3 with incredibly high FSB won't be easily beaten by only 150MHz more...

Mine is at an equal CPUMark level with a native TB700-750/P3 750.

from all of my tests I found that 150+mhz is needed to be added to celeron to compare to a p3 and then still the p3 has more cahe so it will do some things even better.

definitely the p3. but if you're thinking of getting a celermine, i'd recommend a duron instead.

Oh, I have a P3 @ 880 with a gorb (alpha on the way 900+!!!) I was just wondering if my P3 was on par with a 1Ghz Celemine...guess so...**BumP**
