it really depends on what you want to wear out
if you let out the clutch slowly, you are waering out the clutch becasue the engine is spinning at one speed and the transmission is spinning at another speed and you are slwoly mating them together..so by slowly letting out the clutch you are alowing some friction to burn the clutch a little..wear out the clutch
if you let it out fast, you reduce that clutch burning and immediately mash the engine and tranny together thus forcing the tranny and engine to spin at the same speed. usually that means a shocking jolting type of force onto the gears of the transmission and axles...so then you would wear those out faster
the key is finding the perfect balance between the two extremes to manage what you want to wear and how you want to drive
