The big difference (imho) between the first and the second will be that the story will be much tighter. The 1st sort of rambled senselessly. They did tweak a lot of the mechanics and added a bit for height but still feels mostly the same (combat).
Yea I remember that from little that I played in on a friend's system. There was way too much dialogue and it took forever to get to the point. I do appreciate a decent story.

I meant in terms of story and what not. I figured since the second one won't be done for a while I may as well just get the first game anyway although I would like the nicer graphics.
There is a kind of large world story plot that started way back in the game Divine Divinity in 2002. While that large arc story adds some flavor to the world it is not all that important to each individual game. Divinity 2 is set centuries after the events of D:OS so I doubt too much of the plot of that game will be important to Divinity 2.

The first game is on steam, enhanced edition for $20. Going to pick it up during lunch. Totally worth it at that price.

I read through your comments and wasn't sure when you first played DOS. They changed a lot of things in the enhanced edition, so you may enjoy it more. If you've someone to co-op with I highly suggest it. Co-op was done geniously in this game in that either party is technically independent (apart from certain moments), so they can wander around separately and finish quests without both being in the same screen space.

For so!e reason I thought DOS2 was already put, but really looking forward to it being completed. GF and I really enjoyed 1, although it took a really long time to complete.

I played it like a year ago so it's been a while. I finally was able to venture out of the town for a little bit. Took me quite a bit of time to get used to the style of gameplay. I pretty much have to use a walkthrough because I suck at these games. But for the most part I use it to see if I'm on the right track. I doubt I will finish this game though it seems that it has a ton of quests.
