What is Dell's policy on dead pixels on a new LCD?

Thinking about buying an LCD for my second PC, what if I buy a Dell LCD and spot a dead pixel 1 week after I buy it?

i think you need to have more then one pixel dead or a combination of dead pixels before it can be returned for waranty. has for dell's return policy, why not look on thier website.

btw most times 1 pixel is enough to warant a return

Their website is not clear. I suppose you just have to return the unit at your expense and order another one?

I tried to get them to replace the screen on a laptop a while back and was informed that it took a minimum of 5 (I think?) pixels before Dell would replace it. On those Dell rebadged LCD's I would guess at least 5 would have to be bad before they would consider replacing it. On any other non-Dell LCD that you bought from Dell, you'd have to take it up with the manufacturer. Dell will just laugh at you if it doesn't have their name stamped on the product and then tell you to go talk to the manufacturer about RMA'ing it.

It falls under their satisfaction guarantee, you can return or exchange it for ANY reason (you don't even have to tell them why) within a month.

No, they send you a replacement monitor w/ a call tag (prepaid return label).

I just bought the dell 1900fp lcd monitor. I sent the first one back, because the silver trim had some smearing. No questions asked. Bam... they sent me a new monitor and I sent them back the one that I didn't want. They even paid for shipping.

Yeah, if it's within the return period, just say the brightness varies or the color is off. They won't check it.
